To my sweet baby boy on his first birthday,
My dear Augie I can't believe you are 1, I dreamed about you my whole entire life and now after just one short year you already have been more amazing than I ever imagined. It feels like yesterday I was sitting with you in your room for the first time just staring at you and thinking that I would have to give you back at some point, but you looked into my eyes and I knew that you were mine. Poppa and I held you everyday all day and people would say that I was spoiling you but I always said that I would hold you for as long as you would let me. And we're still holding you now, you are the most loveable,huggable, cuddle-bug ever and I hope that never changes. Everywhere we go someone always comments how you should be carrying me and I hope you always know that wherever you go no matter how big you get poppa and I will always carry you in our hearts,in our arms and in our soul. You have completed us with your laughs,smiles,temper and just sheer joy that you bring us.
There is so much that I want to say to you and I find myself fumbling to find the words because what I want to say isn't one specific word it is a feeling. I am so blessed and honored to be your mommy and I love being with you and playing with you and dancing with you. My life has purpose and meaning with you in it and I'm not sure what my life was before you. And now here you are a 1 year old already!! You're still not sleeping through the night but it's ok, to be honest I don't mind at all because I miss you so much and the night is just too long. I'm sure your sleeping habits can be easily blamed on poppa and I. We still check in on you about 8 times a piece before we go to bed and we can't resist the Augie hold when you wrap both your arms around our neck and bury your forehead into ours.
So Happy Birthday Augie I wish you everything in the world and will forever be here behind you,supporting you,holding you and most of all loving you for all of the years of your life.

Awww... that is so sweet! Happy birthday, Augie! I'm a friend of Lenna's and I look at Augie's blog from time to time. My daughter is a month behind him so I like to see what's in store for me. :)
OMGoodness. You made me cry. :) Our sweet little boys are growing up SO fast.
